Strident Claims, Self Defeating Means
"In short, the modern revolutionist, being an infinite sceptic, is always engaged in undermining his own mines..." GK Chesterton, Orthodoxy
How about the Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign, which is putting punchy one liners on the side of Chicago buses? One of their creations, "You can be good without God", purports goodness in the absence of God. It's rather difficult to establish morality in the absense of God - further difficult to set a standard of goodness in the absence of morality. The logical outworking of atheism is Nihilism. If there is no over spreading meaning to life, why should I attempt to speckle it with little pockets of meaning? If there is no giver of goodness, how shall I attempt to give what is good?

see relatedSo... Xanga recently added a clever API which will update my Facebook profile whenever I add a weblog entry on Xanga.
Will this "help drive traffic to your Xanga sites" as Xanga claims, or is it a masked acknowledgment that Facebook is getting the market sown up? Regardless, I'm now on Facebook! I'll keep this site up to date as well - if nothing else for old time's sake!

Hiding from Love Workbook
By John Townsend
see relatedOver the Christmas holidays, Marlene and I finalized our decision to attend Faith Builders under the MAP program. We hope to complete the entire program, but may not depending how things pan out in a couple of arenas. It's a pretty monumental decision, but comes as a natural extension of our hopes for the future.
Fare thee well, fine Lancaster County! On to the rigors of the chilly Northwest!
ps - Anyone looking for a great job in Lebanon, PA? I love what I do here. If you enjoy computers or playing with electricity, a good budget, great coworkers, and finding solutions to challenging technical needs, I'd be happy to hear from you.
